19: Our MP Hri Kumar?

I'm wondering: Is he our MP or not? The reason I'm wondering is that he is so silent on the issue that affects the walkway down Jalan Isnin to Shunfu precinct, very near where his office is. The walkway was the result of Thomson Garden Estate residents appealing to their MP Leong Hon Kee a decade or two ago, at least before Shunfuville came into being, to facilitate their access to Shunfu Mart and Food Centre, and the kindergarten @ Shunfu Precinct, and to his credit the MP for Thomson did the job. Now that the fences are going up, Thomson Garden Estate residents are wondering if they will ever get their MPs to stand up and ensure the continued use of the walkway pro bono publico.

17: A monkey in our estate

A monkey was spotted foraging for food at Jalan Minggu this morning. Then just before 4pm today (Tue 6 Nov), the monkey was seen perching on a gate in Jalan Isnin. It jumped up the car porch roof and scampered away. The resident Albert Ong made a call to the Thomson Neighbourhood Police Post and the duty officer said that he would contact NEA for remedial action.

The monkey must have strayed from the nearby MacRitchie Reservoir where monkeys congregate near the Kayaking area.

Many concerned residents of Thomson Garden Estate turned up at the Dialogue Session to hear Mrs Josephine Teo, their Grassroots Adviser, speak about the Walkway @ Jalan Isnin and her undertaking to keep it open vis-a-vis the impending fencing up of the Walkway as part of Shunfu Ville's privatisation procedure.
